The light here was ABSOLUTELY SICK!

My favorite picture of the day.

If you ever get an opportunity to eat a meal prepared by Goode Company Barbeque… just do it. You’ll thank me later.

Be careful that you don’t cut yourself…

Cute. As. A. Button.

The sweet passion in her smile as she meets the stare of her beloved; the look of pure, unrestrained love in his eyes as he sees his future walking down the aisle; the tear of prideful joy as his bride becomes his wife; the laughter, the passion, the tenderness found in a loving embrace; the moments that change lives and the emotions that are forever remembered—that's what we capture.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my studio563 blog!
My name is Matthew McMichael and I'm a photographer from Houston, Texas. I consider myself to be one of the fortunate ones who has found a career doing something that I absolutely love. I am able to express myself freely through art and I get the chance to work with some of the coolest clients on the planet... clients that welcome me into their lives to witness once in a lifetime events and then allow me to transform those moments and emotions into timeless images.
This blog follows both my personal and professional life. It features everything from client shoots to a collection of things that simply inspire me. Please feel free to look around, leave me a comment or two and hopefully in the process you will get a better glimpse of the person behind the camera. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Look me up on Facebook
Chip and I shot Jessica and Marcus’ wedding at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Houston. It was a beautiful day and the wedding party was a ton of fun to hang out with. The reception at the Crystal Ballroom at the historic Rice Hotel was insane! The details and lighting were incredible and made for unbelievable shooting. Jessica and Marcus proved that they definitely know how to throw one heck of a party. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

This may be one of my favorite cake shots…

Yes… yes, that is the guy from SuitMart.
She may not have caught him looking… but I sure did!

Thanks again to Jessica and Marcus for allowing us to be part of your day. You guys really know how to throw down!
Rachel and Mike were married at the always beautiful Chateau Polonez of Houston, Texas. My boy Craig accompanied me and we had a blast with these two. Rachel and Mike just know how to have a great time and they are some of the coolest customers in front of the camera. Rob with Events In Bloom used some of the most amazing floral arrangements I’ve seen in quite a while to create an absolutely stunning scene and Terry at En Vogue Events did an incredible job bringing the day together. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Mike showed a lot more restraint than I would have… if my uncle had brought a new Aston Martin to my wedding, I would have had to take it out on the highway and punch it.

I love it when couples know how to dance and don’t just spin around slowly in a small circle for their first dance. Rachel and Mike had some great moves!

Seriously… one of the coolest grandfather’s that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting at a wedding to date.

They just kiss pretty…
Thanks again Rachel and Mike for letting us be a part of your special day. You guys rock!
So far this year, I have shot a bunch of weddings… but I have been terrible about blogging images. In light of this, I thought that I’d throw out a little something to whet your appetites while I get to work on putting some more posts up in the VERY near future. Please enjoy and be sure to check back soon for new posts.

I love watching children during the wedding. Their expressions are priceless and they always make you wonder just what is going on inside those little heads.

I love details…

I hope that after I’ve been married for 50 years, my wife and I will still be as happy as this couple.
This may be one of the coolest grandfathers I’ve ever had the privilege of getting to know at a wedding.
The girl got some serious air… she’s lucky that she didn’t get called for pass interference.
At least she’s shooting a Nikon…

Ending with one of my favorites…
Cathy has been a very big part of my life and, in all actuality, one of the main reasons for me taking the leap and deciding to pursue photography as a career. While visiting Houston, she agreed to do both me and my portfolio a huge favor and pose for a session. We headed down to The Waterway in The Woodlands and had a blast shooting around. As you can see, she is extremely beautiful and the camera absolutely loved her. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

I decided to try my hand at playing around with textures.

This may just be one of my favorite pictures of Cathy.

And this smile is how I will always remember her…
Thanks again Cathy for making this such a fun afternoon and allowing me to come back with some pretty killer images!
