I have photographed Kate before…but it was more for advertisement and ad work for the store she and her sister owned. Well, I had a the great pleasure of doing some fun personal portraits of her last week. Vanessa helped me out with the shoot and think we got some great shots that Kate will be happy to show off for years and years to come.

Linda Asaf is a very talented designer who happens to call Austin her home. I have known Linda for a while now but haven’t had the fortune of teaming up with her to photograph some of her amazing beautiful dresses. She does everything from evening wear to bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses to custom pieces and now she is designing some amazing couture prom dresses. All the girls are from St. Andrew’s High School and they did an amazing job for not being used to the camera. Special thanks to Stephanie (Linda’s high school intern…also goes to St. Andrew’s) for getting all the girls in order and making sure everything went smoothly. Another huge thanks to the very talented Nisa Nicole for doing all the make up. Nisa and I have a special project planned for next week that I can not wait to shoot. Seriously, if you ever need your make up done professionally you need to give Nisa a call…she is amazing. Here is a taste of the session.

abby and jake (my niece and nephew) came down to the studio for valentine’s portraits last week and wanted to share the cuteness. i swear they grow like weeds. jen, i don’t know what you are feeding these two but they need to go ahead and stop growing up so quickly. abby is pretty much already a teenager with some of her mannerisms. totally cracks kim and me up…and jake almost has some words down. he’s so close. check out the ‘love’.

Here are a few detail shots I did out at Barr Mansion a few weeks back at one of their open houses. Shooting detail is so soothing to my soul…you can just take your time and be as creative as you want. I’m not saying these are uber creative or anything…just my thoughts on detail. anywho…here are a few photos to look at. Thank you Rick and Abby for having me out there. Always a treat.

Melissa and Juan are getting married in May so we did some kick arse engagement photos a few weeks back when it was freezing cold outside. These guys were super troopers though braving the brisk Austin air for some fantastic shots. We then retired to the studio to get some more laid back portraits. It is easy to spot two people in love and Melissa and Juan are definitely two that you can pick out of a crowd cuz you can see how much they love each other. Very cool. Oh you also have to check out Melissa’s etsy page for some really cool art and unique cards.

Well I meant to do this post right after the new year started, but holy cow has it been busy here in the studio. I am finally finding time to get some of my favorite photos from 2009 up on the blog. Now a lot of these are personal or family photos that I probably did not post throughout the year, but they mean a lot to me. What can I say about 2009…I think we are all glad to have gotten through the year, but there were some exciting things that happened last year. New President, people went Twitter and Facebook crazy. As I look through my favorite photos I see a lot of milestones captured…birthdays, baptisms, family get togethers…those are some of my favorite moments in life. I’m happy to share.

Photography is not only my profession, but I am blessed that it still my hobby too. So from time to time I take a step back and photograph something completely different from people. Kind of getting back to why I got into photography in the first place. Flowers are some of my favorite things to photograph. Here are a few I did this year.
We have been blessed to be chosen as one of The Knot’s best of 2010. Thank you for honoring us with this. It is pretty humbling because there are a ton of amazing photographers in this town. It is going to be a great year!
