Craig Davis :: studio563 bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

Hey there! My name is Craig Davis and I am a photographer from Houston, Texas. I absolutely love what I get to call my "job". I work with some of the coolest clients in the world and consider it a blessing to document special occasions and once of a lifetime moments in peoples lives. As the photographer for studio563 I get to "work" by capturing emotion.

April is my amazingly gorgeous wife as well as the best business partner that anyone could ever ask for. We have a beautiful little girl named Lexi, but you will hear her lovingly referred to as "The Wee One". We also have a little boy on the team as well. His name is Brock and we call him "ManChild". I am extremely blessed and I know that every good and perfect gift I have comes from my loving savior Jesus Christ. Without him nothing in this amazing life of mine would be possible.

Katie & Fredy :: the Engagement Session :: Austin, Tx

Man did I have fun on this shoot! Katie & Fredy are two very cool people and we had a blast hangin out during their engagement session.  It is always cool when I get the chance to shoot in new places.  I love that Katie & Fredy were cool with exploring and discovering places to shoot during their session and the looked GREAT! Here are some of my favorite images from our time together.

Then we finished up the day at Katie’s grandmother’s house.  Check out this view!

Thanks again guys for a great time together and for the chance to make some great photographs.

A Family Session for a friend :: Bellville, Tx.

My friends Jennifer and her brother Jeff asked me to come out to their mom’s farm to do a family shoot as a gift for her.  I drove into Bellville and immediately felt at home in this small town.  We made some great portraits there at their farm house and afterwards had a great time talking gardening and raising chickens.  Tim sent me home with some eggs laid that morning and I do not ever want to eat another store bought egg again!  Enough of my dreaming of country living.  Enjoy some of my favorite images from their shoot.

Thanks gang for a great Saturday morning!

YooMi & Oliver :: the Wedding :: Butler’s Courtyard, League City, Tx.

In February I had the great privilege of shooting YooMi and Oliver’s special day at Butler’s Courtyard in League City.  It was a great event and we had a great time sharing that day with them.  The light was especially beautiful that day and the smiles on friends and family made it a blast to be a part of.  It didn’t hurt that both the bride and the groom looked incredible.  Here are a few of my favorite images from their wedding day.

I love this moment that Scot captured while I was with the guys.

WOW!

After the wonderful ceremony we took some time for some great portraits in the beautiful light.

I love it when Scot shoots details.

Thanks again you guys for the chance to share this amazing day with you.

The Manchild at Mother’s Day Out

Every year we shoot pics for The Bridge Fellowship MDO program. This is also where the Manchild goes twice a week so that April can get some stuff for the studio done. So of course I thought I would share some pics that I shot of our little man and you know his momma had to jump in there with him. It’s crazy how much your heart can expand when you have another child. You think it is impossible, but your heart just grows.

Stephanie & Vincent :: Engagement Session :: Chappell Hill, Tx.

Brace yourselves.  This is what is commonly referred to as a “blogsplosion”.  Stephanie and Vincent are some VERY cool people.  When they said they wanted to go to the family ranch and do their session and that there would be horseback involved I got all kinds of excited.  I had such a great time shooting these two.  So without any further delay, check out these cool pics!

Miss Stephanie.  This lady is BEAUTIFUL and so sweet.

And Mr. Vincent.  This guy is a man’s man and a true cowboy.  You gotta respect him.

After shooting around Historic Chappell Hill we went to the family ranch.  WOW!

Some of the ranch details including this old Willys Jeep.

And for the dog lovers…

It was time to saddle up!

I told you.  True cowboy.

After our shoot Vincent fired up the fire pit that he built and grilled up some amazing steak for dinner.  Texas style!

And you know we had to heat the family branding iron up!

What a great time!  Thanks so much guys for sharing this time and your ranch with me.
